Some people stumble into insurance, but I grew up around it. I was raised within walking distance of a county nursing home, where both my mother and my best friend's mother worked. Combined with watching my grandmother navigate life in a wheelchair after contracting polio, elder care wasn't an abstract concept to me — it was part of everyday life from an early age.
Before I built a career in insurance, I served in the U.S. Air Force. That experience shaped how I approach every client relationship today. The military teaches you that details matter — a missed step or a misread instruction can have real consequences for real people. That same discipline is why I dig into the fine print of every Medicare plan, because the difference between two similar-looking policies can mean thousands of dollars, or a denied claim, right when someone needs care most. The Air Force also instilled a simple principle in me: you take care of your people. That's not a slogan for me — it's the standard I hold myself to with every client.
However, it was a later experience that truly changed the trajectory of my career. I observed a family member fight a serious illness for years, requiring constant care, and ultimately passing away without life insurance. The financial burden on their spouse was devastating, and that experience stayed with me.
That situation did two things: it motivated me to secure proper coverage for myself, and it ignited my passion to help others avoid similar situations. In my five years at New York Life, I built a strong foundation — but I also saw the limits of representing just one company. So in January 2026, I launched New England Plan Navigator as an independent broker, working with dozens of carriers rather than being tied to any single one. That means I'm not selling you a product — I'm finding you a solution. Whether that's the lowest possible premium, the most comprehensive coverage, or the sweet spot in between, my job is to match you with the plan that actually fits your life, not the one that fits a sales quota.
This work is deeply personal to me. It's the driving force behind my commitment to show up for every client, just as I wish someone had done for my family, ensuring they receive the best insurance advice in New England.
